In Czechia, new pages reach a sixth of the market on day one
Everywhere else on this site there is a caveat: IndexNow reaches Bing, Yandex, Seznam and Naver, and Google does not participate, so new pages wait. In Czechia that caveat is worth considerably less, because Seznam is not a rounding error here.

Why the usual indexing advice fits Czechia badly
Almost every piece of SEO advice you will read is written for a market where Google is effectively the whole of search, and the honest conclusion in that market is that a new page waits weeks to be found. That is correct for most of the world.
It is less correct here. As of September 2026, StatCounter puts Google at 78.71% of Czech search and Seznam at 15.05%. Roughly one search in six on the Czech internet happens somewhere that most SEO tooling treats as a footnote, and most of the people you compete with are optimising as though it did not exist.
The second problem is more ordinary and bites harder: a Czech business publishing in Czech is competing in a language with far fewer writers than English and far less content. The queries that bring a stranger are often answered by nobody at all.
What that means in practice
Two things change, and one of them is the only place on this site where the indexing story is good news.
- Seznam is notified the moment a page is live
- Through IndexNow, along with Bing, Yandex and Naver. On a Czech site that means a new article reaches roughly a sixth of the market immediately instead of waiting for a crawl.
- Google still waits, and the page says so
- Google does not participate in IndexNow and finds the page through your sitemap at its own pace. The 78.71% still takes weeks. Nothing here changes that and nobody should tell you otherwise.
- Articles written in Czech, not translated into it
- The research runs against Czech results, so the keywords are what Czech people type rather than an English list run through a translator.
- An audit of what you already have
- Pages blocked from indexing, missing titles, duplicate content, absent structured data. Usually worth more than the next ten articles.
- $35 a month against a local agency
- Czech SEO agencies work on retainers that assume a marketing budget. This is priced for a business that does not have one yet.

Check your robots.txt for SeznamBot. It is one line and it is often wrong.

Most of it converges on $99 a month, and nothing about the products explains why.
What optimising for Seznam actually involves
Mostly the same work, which is the useful part: good content in Czech, a clean site, sensible structure. Seznam reads a page much the way Google does and the two reward similar things, so you are not maintaining two strategies.
The differences that matter are practical rather than strategic. Seznam has its own webmaster tools and its own crawler, and a site that only ever thinks about Googlebot can end up quietly inaccessible to it. Being submitted through IndexNow removes the discovery half of that problem; the rest is making sure nothing in your robots.txt blocks a crawler you were not thinking about.
Worth checking before anything else: open your robots.txt and confirm you are not blocking SeznamBot. It is a one-line check and on a site built from an English-language template it is not a rare finding.
The honest limit of a 15% market
Fifteen percent is meaningful and it is not most of your traffic. If you rank well on Seznam and badly on Google, you have a problem that Seznam cannot solve for you. The point of this page is not that Seznam replaces Google, it is that the usual advice to ignore everything except Google leaves a sixth of the market on the table in this one country.
Treat it as an advantage at the margin: faster feedback on whether a page works, earlier traffic while Google decides, and a competitor set that mostly is not paying attention.
What this will not do
It will not get pages into Google faster. The 78.71% is still a sitemap and a wait.
It does not run Seznam Webmaster Tools for you, and that is worth setting up by hand.
It does not build backlinks, in any market, by choice.
It will not rank a new Czech site in a month. Three to six months is the honest horizon here as anywhere.

Is Seznam still worth optimising for?
On StatCounter's September 2026 figures it carries 15.05% of Czech search. Its share has trended down over the years and it is still a sixth of the market, which is more than the entire non-Google share in most countries. Whether that is worth your attention depends on how much of your business is Czech.
Do I need separate content for Seznam and Google?
No, and anyone selling you two strategies is selling you twice. The same Czech-language content serves both. What differs is discovery and webmaster tooling, not what you write.
Can Visorank write in Czech?
Yes, per site. The research runs against Czech results rather than translating an English keyword list, which matters because the two produce different lists.
